Should I Buy LCD or Plasma?

The debate over whether Plasma is better than LCD has been going on for quite some time. This is usually the question that customers ask dealers, which the dealer can only answer...it's really a personal decision.

Well, that isn't good enough for many people. When it comes right down to it, Plasma screens deliver the sharpest picture, with the least amount of distortion and shows the deepest blacks.

The thing about Plasma HDTVs is that they cost significantly more than LCD TVs. Though the quality is arguably better, is it worth the extra cost?

Many people prefer to be ahead of the technology trend. Everyone knows how quickly technology becomes obsolete or outdated. So, they get the top of the line model to be ahead of the trends and to keep their technology current for longer. That is one of the reasons Plasma is more popular than LCD displays.

Plasma screens also have a wider viewing angle than LCD displays. The way the Plasma screen works allows the light to leave the screen evenly, which allows someone to sit off to the side and still be able to view the whole picture. Although LCD technology is quickly catching up in terms of a wider viewing angle, Plasma still tops the LCD just because of how each screen works.

Plasma screens are also available in larger sizes than LCD displays. LCD displays top off at about 52 inches. Any larger than that and the image becomes compromised. LCD manufacturers are working on increasing the size of the display, but it is difficult to accomplish when working with the LCD medium. Plasmas, on the other hand, are available in sizes up to 100 inches! The image integrity remains, even on displays that large. Plasma HDTV is definitely the future of television.
