Hiding Your Wires

How To Hide Those Pesky Wires

So, you've mounted your flat panel TV to the wall. Looks great, right? Well, not with those wires hanging down! There are many ways to hide these wires, but the first step is consolidation. If don't want to make costly repairs to your wall, keep the other wall mounted components to a minimum. The less you have to conceal, the less you will need to do to conceal them.

If you have only the power cord and the receiver cable to hide, you have a very easy task in front of you. Unless you have the motivation to cut holes in your wall to fish the cables down to another hole in your wall, possibly have to repaint a section of your wall, and risk cutting through electrical wires...you'll want to put something in front of the wires.

This can range from a strip of fabric the same color as your wall, to actually wall papering your wall (it can be a solid color, no florals necessary). If you are creative you can even paint murals using the wires as part of the picture to conceal them artistically.

Just remember that if you don't feel comfortable cutting through your wall, you probably shouldn't. Too many preventable accidents occur through simple lack of experience. If you want your wires to be hidden within the wall and don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, hire someone to do it for you. It's worth it.

Now that those wires are out of sight, that new TV looks sweeeet. Enjoy!
